Introduction

Membership of the St James's Club is drawn from the business and professional communities of Manchester and the North West. The club has a proactive policy to encourage a diverse and interesting membership.

Lady members have been welcome for some years to enjoy full membership - and are represented on the club's committee.

The Club is now accepting new members, and is particularly keen to attract younger members.

The Club provides a haven of private peace in the centre of a busy City. Membership is by invitation only and access is controlled by swipe card, which also enables Members to bill their expenditure to their account.

Members are not deafened with sound in the Club and will be very secure at all times. Coffee, soft drinks and tea are available from 11 am until 4pm with the bar open from noon.

Visiting members can make use of the reading and writing area, and make telephone calls between appointments in the city centre.

Most members make regular use of the Club at luncheon where a range of meals is available. The menu is wide and regularly changed, and it is possible to have a quick lunch and be away without infringing the street parking restrictions.

The Club has a social programme and regular meetings of specialist groups, such as the Legal and Accounting professions and other business groups such as those engaged in property and construction.
