Local History Circle

The Local History Circle now meets at lunchtimes on the 3rd Thursday of each month. The society offers members, guests and visitors and excellent forum to relax with pleasant conversation, followed by a talk to enlighten on the how our city and region came about before enjoying a lunch. It is guaranteed that you will learn something new which might produce a discussion point or two.


There has been a number of experienced speakers who have covered a vast range of topics including; Gentlemen’s Clubs in Victorian Manchester, Joseph Sunlight, Alan Turing and “The Imitation Game”. Drink & Sober! Raise a glass to Manchester's drinking history! And Churchill in Manchester.
